Isotopic Mixture Properties and their Variation in the Separation Process

  • Published:
Atomic Energy Aims and scope

The properties of a multicomponent isotopic mixture are considered, parameters for determining its value are proposed, and the variation in the properties of an isotopic mixture in a separative element is described. It is shown that for monoisotopic mixtures the proposed parameters are close to zero and do not vary during separation (the separation effect is close to zero). For an isotopic mixture with a symmetric composition (C1 → 50%, Cn → 50%), the proposed d-parameter takes its maximum value. The maximum variation of the content of the mixture components is achieved on passage of such an isotopic mixture through a separative element.
