Effect of the Operation of a Polar Crane on the Stress-Strain State of NPP Containment

  • Published:
Atomic Energy Aims and scope

The results of a calculation of the effect of the stress-strain state of the containment shell on the action of the loads of a polar crane – own weight, action during tests and installation of the reactor body – are presented. It is proposed that the construction of the containment be controlled at the stage of both construction and operation in order to improve the safety of nuclear power plants.
