Method of Integral Reliability Assessment of Equipment and Personnel of Long-Operating NPP Power Unit

  • Published:
Atomic Energy Aims and scope

A method of making an integral reliability assessment of the equipment and personnel for NPP with a long service life on the basis of an analysis of data from safety monitoring of the power unit is presented. Safety and reliability is indicated by means of the parameters of the Weibull distribution. The distribution parameters are determined from data on equipment and system failures in NPP within a randomly specified time interval. The prospects for using the method to substantiate the adoption of managerial and technical decisions aimed at improving the safety culture of NPP are shown. The possibility of practical application of the proposed method is demonstrated for the example of safety monitoring of the Balakovo NPP.
