In decommissioning research reactors, high-level wastes must be handled at all stages of the work. Remote-controlled means for measuring activity and remote-controlled machines are to be used in such operations. Methods of measuring the activity of and sorting wastes and placing them in long-term storage are examined. The technologies proposed make it possible to provide radiation protection to workers performing radiation-hazardous work and to meet the dose load requirements established by the regulations.
