A spatiotemporal nonstationary process in the presence of a spatial dependence of the delayed-neutron fraction is analyzed for a two-dimensional cell with reflection at the boundaries. Transient processes in the system are analyzed up to the asymptotic regime. The particularities of the temporal behavior of the reactor in the presence of large sub-regions with different delayed-neutron fractions are discussed.
