Abstract

Questions concerning the development of propulsion nuclear power systems are examined. The priorities for promising systems for the naval and civilian fleets are determined-reliability and survivability, secretiveness, safety, technical-economic indicators, ecology. Each group of requirements is analyzed in detail. Special attention is focused on the direction of development of reactor cores for nuclear-powered propulsion systems.
