Compton Scattering in Plane Media: Polarization of Radiation and Azimuthal Independence. II. Results of Calculations

  • Published:
Astrophysics Aims and scope

In the second part of this paper we derive the final formulas for calculating the azimuthal average of the frequency redistribution functions (RF), for direction, and polarization for Compton scattering in plane stationary media. The azimuthal averages of the most singular term of the RF are expressed in terms of elliptical integrals of the first kind. Examples of averaging are given.
