Abstract

Kinetic theory has been employed to study acoustic like modes in a \(q\)-nonextensive pair plasma (electron-positron or pair-ion). Three dimensional \(q\)-nonextensive distribution function has been used to derive the dielectric response function and analysis the behavior of acoustic like modes in a \(q\)-nonextensive pair-ion plasma. It is also shown that the existence of unstable acoustic modes is not possible in a pair-ion plasma following a \(q\)-nonextensive distribution function.
