Four senior psychiatrists met with the president of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (November 2020) to raise concerns around appropriate medical, psychological, and safeguarding interventions for transgender patients. Their concerns were dismissed, and they were told emphatically “Gender Dysphoria is not a mental illness.”
