Zusammenfassung

Infektionskrankheiten stellen eine erhebliche Herausforderung für das Gesundheitswesen dar, sowohl in der ambulanten als auch der stationären Versorgung. In der ambulanten Versorgung durch Allgemeinmediziner und Pädiater ist das leitliniengerechte diagnostische und therapeutische Vorgehen bei Ersteinschätzung, abwendbar gefährlichen Verläufen und Komplikationen von entscheidender Bedeutung. Durch Maßnahmen wie Point-of-Care-Tests und gezielte Fortbildungen kann der Einsatz von Antibiotika verbessert werden. Im Krankenhaus spielen interdisziplinäre Teams eine entscheidende Rolle bei komplexen Infektionsfällen. Die Einführung des Facharztes für Innere Medizin und Infektiologie bietet neue Perspektiven, um die intersektorale und interdisziplinäre Zusammenarbeit über die verschiedenen ambulanten und stationären Bereiche hinweg zu ergänzen und zu stärken. Durch moderne Technologien wie Telemedizin können die Zusammenarbeit und Kommunikation weiter verbessert werden. Eine umfassende Betrachtung der Versorgungsstrukturen und die kontinuierliche Weiterentwicklung von Strategien sind für eine hochwertige Patientenversorgung unerlässlich.

Abstract

Infectious diseases represent a significant challenge to the healthcare system both in outpatient and inpatient care settings. In outpatient care, which is typically overseen by general practitioners and pediatricians, a guideline-compliant diagnostic and therapeutic approach is of decisive importance in the initial estimation, in avoidable life-threatening courses and complications. Measures such as point of care testing and targeted further training can improve the use of antibiotics. In hospitals, interdisciplinary teams play a pivotal role in managing complex cases of infections. The introduction of the specialist in internal medicine and infectious diseases offers new perspectives to complement and strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration across various outpatient and inpatient domains. Modern technologies, such as telemedicine can further enhance the collaboration and communication. A comprehensive examination of healthcare structures and the continuous development of strategies are essential for high-quality patient care.
