Abstract

Interventional bronchoscopy is a large field with different therapeutic indications. Interventions can be performed via flexible or rigid bronchoscopy or as a combination of both and a host of different interventional tools are available. Central airway stenosis is a common indication for recanalization with or without the introduction of an airway stent. Hemoptysis is another indication for diagnostics and intervention via bronchoscopy. Foreign body aspiration can be an emergency in children and may require rigid or flexible bronchoscopy to retrieve the object. This article aims to provide the reader with an overview of the different interventional techniques available.
