Passivrauchen als Gesundheitsrisiko

Passive smoking as a health risk

Abstract

Environmental tobacco smoke (ETS) is the third leading but preventable cause of death worldwide. It is associated with increased risks of obstructive airway diseases, lung cancer, and cardiovascular disease. Dose-response relationships are mostly linear in airway diseases, while they are mainly non-linear in cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. Public smoking bans have been shown to reduce ETS-associated morbidity and mortality.
