Abstract
The majority of patients with small cell lung cancer (SCLC) are in an advanced stage at presentation and need rapid treatment. Patients in good condition and assumed limited disease require extended staging. In the absence of distant metastases early cooperation of experts in oncology, radiotherapy and in the case of extremely limited disease also surgery is essential.
