Summary

On the basis of a case report, I want to discuss my experience with grief and its accompaniments in palliative care. Furthermore, issues will be addressed such as: accompanying a palliative patient whose daughter died of cancer three years earlier; establishing rapport with patients of different religious beliefs; the limits of psychotherapeutic aid: what it can offer and its acceptance. New models and approaches for accompaniment of grief.

Zusammenfassung

Anhand eines Patientinnenbeispieles werden Erfahrungen von Trauer und Fragen entsprechender Begleitung in der Palliative Care erörtert. Folgende Fragen werden behandelt: Worauf ist zu achten bei der Begleitung einer Palliativpatientin, die selber drei Jahre zuvor ihre Tochter durch eine Krebserkrankung verloren hat? Wie kann der Zugang zu Patienten in Respekt einer anderen religiösen Zugehörigkeit gestaltet werden? Was ist zu tun oder zu lassen, wenn innerhalb von Palliative Care das Angebot von Psychotherapie an Grenzen stößt Inwieweit verändern neue Modelle und Ansätze in der Trauerbegleitung Einstellung und Verhalten der Professionellen?
