Sommario
Abstract
One of the most important factors conditioning treatment choice for diaphyseal femur pediatric fractures is the age of the patient. Children under 6 years are treated with traction and spica casting. Older patients need surgical treatment. From 2003 to 2012 we treated 30 patients, 17 under 6 years and 13 older. Patients in the first group were treated by spica casting. Older patients were treated surgically with elastic nailing, rigid nails or plating. No patient needed further treatment for complications.
