Abstract
We conducted an anatomical study on the distal humerus and on its relations with the radial nerve, and applied a consequent surgical method to increase the construction’s stability and safety. The lateral epicondyle is a safe implant spot for the most distal screw, and it represents the mark from which to calculate the safety distance from the nerve. It is possible to extend the surgical access proximally for at least 6 cm without interfering with the radial nerve’s path. This implant, with no articular limitations, can be used for the treatment of distal fractures as well, thus avoiding the bridged or the dynamic external fixation bound to the ulna.
