De l’intérêt de la collaboration entre généticiens et psycho-oncologues pour mieux appréhender la démarche en oncogénétique

Résumé:

Cet article présente l’organisation de la consultation pluridisciplinaire d’oncogénétique de l’Institut Curie, ses intervenants, son déroulement temporel et les enjeux de chaque étape. Un cas clinique permet d’illustrer les enjeux personnels et familiaux qui doivent être explorés lors de la mise en œuvre de cette démarche et lors de l’accompagnement et du suivi de la consultante ainsi que le subtilmélange entre les aspects objectifs de compréhension et de rétention d’une information complexe et ceux—plus subjectifs—des représentations et des intuitions de la personne qui consulte. Il souligne l’importance d’une collaboration renforcée entre les équipes de génétique et de psycho-oncologie.

Abstract:

This paper describes the approach of the pluridisciplinary consultation of cancer genetics of the Institut Curie, pointing to the health care professionals involved, the consultation programme and the specific issues encountered at each step. A clinical case illustrates the critical issues faced by individuals undergoing cancer genetic consultation and their families. These themes should be thoroughly investigated during the first consultation and at follow-up meetings, as well as the subtle intricacy between the objective understanding and retention of the complex information provided by the geneticist and the consultant’s more subjective perceptions and insights. This paper underlines the importance of a reinforced close collaboration between the cancer genetics and psycho-oncology teams.
