In the original publication of the article, the third sentence of figure 5 caption should read as “The chimpanzee’s left ear (shown on the right of the photograph, encircled in red) is infected, and is much warmer than the other ear, as shown by the white coloration revealed in the thermal image (average temperature 96.7°F).”
