Abstract

Polar body diagnosis is a suitable technique to reveal numerical chromosomal disorders in human oocytes and can be performed in compliance with the German Embryo Protection Law. At present this method is offered to patients with advanced maternal age and to couples with previous implantation failures. So far the results are in accordance with those reported in the international literature. However, the benefit of this new technique can only be assessed in a prospective study.
