Abstract
Since the first studies in 1988 showing that Epilobium parviflorum affects prostate tissue by improving the symptoms of benign prostatic hypertrophy, other similar studies have been scarce. After studies on the proliferation of prostate tissue, the author wanted to verify this effect for different types of epilobium, such as those of different geographical origins. It would appear that the most active types are E. angustifolia and E. rosmarinifolia. Of all the chemical components, it would appear that oenothein B is primarily active, but its activity does not explain all the activity of the plant totum.
