Colonic stenting: New equipment and insertion technique

Abstract

Since digestive stents have evolved (introductory catheter, distal opening, elastic meshing, biocompatibility of materials, ease of use) they are commonly used. Use is well standardized and varies according to the stent type. Evolving indications have allowed use to be extended from palliative treatment to “bridge to surgery” and even some benign stenoses.
