Abstract
This pictorial essay illustrates a variety of unsuspected diseases detected in blunt trauma patients who underwent helical CT for suspected abdominal injuries. Representative cases of benign and malignant diseases, congenital abnormalities, and other miscellaneous expansive intra-abdominal lesions were selected from the CT registry of a level I trauma center. The recognition of underlying disease is important for the management of trauma patients.
