In this article, the sentence "Three sciaenid species ranked highest among bony fishes (Fig. 2A): Micropogonias furnieri, Merluccius hubbsi, and Cynoscion guatucupa (OSS range = 25.1–25.9)." should be updated to "Two sciaenids, Micropogonias furnieri and Cynoscion guatucupa, and a merluccid, Merluccius hubbsi, ranked highest among bony fishes (OSS range = 25.1–25.9) (Fig. 2A)."
