RETRACTED ARTICLE: Headaches and brain tumors

The article “Headache and brain tumors” (E. Mea, A. Silvani, P. Gaviani, E. Lamperti, D. Ferrari, A. Botturi, G. Simonetti, S. Duri, G. Bussone, A . Salmaggi, Neurol Sci DOI 10.1007/s10072-011-0789-8) has been retracted upon request of Dr. Andrea Salmaggi and Dr. Eliana Mea because of extensive similarities and identical whole paragraphs with the review “Headache and brain tumors” (S. Kirby, R.A. Purdy. Curr. Neurology Neurosci. Reports 2007,7:110–116). Dr. Eliana Mea acknowledges full responsibility for this unfortunate situation which she attributes to an unintentional mistake and not to an intentional plagiarism. Whichever was the mistake, the result was a serious violation of the publishing rules and the Editor in chief and the Publisher are deeply sorry for any inconvenience that this may have caused to the editorial and the publishing staff of Current Neurology and Neuroscience Reports and to the authors of the reproduced articles.
