Bei dem Jahreskongreß 1998 der Amerikanischen Vereinigung der Anästhesisten (ASA) in Orlando wurden u.a. einige klinische Studien zu notfallmedizinischen Themenbereichen präsentiert, die hier vorgestellt werden sollen. Schwerpunkte lagen bei Infusionslösungen zum Volumenersatz z.B. für SHT-Patienten, bei neuen Aspekten von Notfallmedikamenten und bei Fragestellungen wie Airway Management und Intoxikationen.
