Im Falle einer Hypoglykämie bei kontinuierlicher subkutaner Insulin-Infusions-Therapie wird der Notarzt in der Regel mit einer Glucoseinjektion die Selbstkontrolle des Patienten wiederherstellen können ohne Einstellungsänderung an der Insulinpumpe. Als letzte Möglichkeit kommt aber auch eine Unterbrechung der Insulinzufuhr durch Abkopplung des extern getragenen Insulinreservoirs in Betracht.
