Abstract
Falls in older adults are of enormous importance. The consequences for those affected are usually dramatic and range from the development of a fear of falling to the loss of autonomy or even to death. Fall prevention is therefore of central importance both in terms of healthy aging and from a socioeconomic perspective. Through physical training, balance, and function, the risk of falling can be reduced. Group training appears to be not only more cost effective but also more efficient than individual training. The form of training must always be tailored to the individual needs and resources of those affected.
