Abstract
This case report describes the successful, controlled rewarming of a 29-year-old man using a intravascular temperature management catheter. In the article, the various rewarming methods and their role in the treatment recommendations are described. Furthermore, the pathophysiological peculiarities of drowning accidents as well as the specific features of resuscitation in patients with severe hypothermia are described and discussed.
