Abstract
The propellants of commercial insulating foams are explosive in case of high concentration and in the presence of oxygen and an ignition source. Patients with this kind of exposure may present with inhalation trauma and dermal burns. Furthermore the frequently used propellants such as propane and butane may have an asphyctic effect and the volatile components of the isolating foam may be slightly irritant to the respiratory tract.
