Abstract

The international guidelines for cardiopulmonary resuscitation are subject to constant modification. In December 2005 they were newly revised. In addition to the scientifically based recommendations the practical treatment is decisive for the patient’s survival. This article presents the education programs of the American Heart Association and describes as example the practice in Ireland.
