Das Dr. von Haunersche Kinderspital ist ein notfallmedizinisches Zentrum für alle chirurgischen und pädiatrischen Notfälle bis zum Adoleszentenalter. Nicht nur für die Stadt München und das Land Bayern, auch überregional wird dieses Notfallzentrum genützt. Entscheidend für ein notfallmedizinisches Zentrum für Kinder ist die uneingeschränkte Verfügbarkeit aller operativen und konservativen Maßnahmen eines Notfallteams. In dieser Übersicht werden neben den prinzipiellen und strukturellen Gegebenheiten einige ausgewählte kinderchirurgische Krankheitsbilder diskutiert.

Abstract

The Dr. v. Haunersches Kinderspital is an emergency medical center for all surgical and pediatric emergencies up to adolescent age. This center serves the Munich area, the Bundesland Bavaria, but treats also cases transferred from other German regions. The City of Munich is the capital of Bavaria with a population of 1.26 million people. It is the third largest city in Germany and covers an area of 31.041 hectars. Bavaria is the land with the largest rural area in the Federal Republic of Germany. 12.3 million people live on 70.550 square kilometers.

The most important prerequisite for an pediatric emergency medical center is the unrestricted availability of all conservative and surgical interventions by an emergency medical team. This paper describes the necessary resources and the local structures available for this purpose at Munich University and relates this to some examples of typical pediatric emergencies.
