Effect of linewidth enhancement factor on the stability map of optically injected distributed feedback laser

Abstract

We theoretically investigate the effect of the linewidth enhancement factor (known as the α-factor) on the nonlinear dynamics of a distributed feedback (DFB) laser subjected to external coherent optical injection. This factor has shown considerable effect on the behavior of the injected laser, as shown in the so-called stability map.
