Abstract

A semi-monolithic standing-wave resonator has been constructed and employed for frequency doubling of a Ti:sapphire laser. The resonator consists of a 5 mm long KNbO3 crystal with dielectric coatings on both end faces and a spherical mirror with 20 mm radius of curvature. With 31.2 mW input power at 861.4 nm second harmonic power of 11.4 mW has been generated corresponding to the conversion efficiency of 36.5%.
