Abstract
Bone injuries at the elbow joint are detected or excluded primarily by means of projection radiography in two planes. This basic diagnostic examination is complemented by ¶X-ray in a 45° diagonal projection. For an extended basic diagnostic investigation CT, as a sectional view procedure, is applied. Questions relating to the strategy to be followed during the operation are the main focus of attention. MRI is the method of choice for diagnosis in special circumstances, such as in the case of occult bone injury and when soft tissue findings are observed, and also for the preparation of official outcome findings that can be used in any later legal investigation.
