Winkelstabile Kondylenplatte TiFix^®

Es wird über erste Erfahrungen mit der winkelstabilen Kondylenplatte TiFix ^® für die Versorgung supra- und transkondylärer Femurfrakturen berichtet, welche bisher bei 12 Patienten Anwendung fand. In keinem Fall traten Infekte, Wundheilungsstörungen oder Implantatversager auf. Die Implantation kann minimalinvasiv erfolgen. Bei der bisherigen Verwendung überzeugte das Implantat durch einfache Handhabung sowie die guten Repositionsmöglichkeiten. Aufgrund der Winkelstabilität kann auch bei osteoporotischem Knochen frühzeitig mit der krankengymnastischen Übungsbehandlung begonnen werden, was für ein optimales funktionelles Ergebnis unverzichtbar ist.

We report on the new, angularly stable Tifix condylar plate for treating supra- and transcondylar fractures of the femur. During a period of 13 months, 12 patients were treated with this new system which allows minimally invasive implantation. Up to now, no infections, healing complications, or implant failures were observed. Treatment has been completed in the first nine patients, and full weight-bearing was achieved in all of them. The range of movement was comparable to that of other fixation techniques in similar fractures. Thus far, the method’s ease of use and advantages in reduction have proven its viability and, due to the angular stability, it also allows early physiotherapy, even in cases with osteoporosis.
