Problem Maurerkrätze: Es gibt eine Lösung

In der Bauwirtschaft sind Berufskrankheiten der Haut relativ häufig. Die chronisch allergischen Kontaktekzeme durch Chromat in Zement und zementären Produkten bilden dabei die zahlenmäßig größte Gruppe. Da das Chromatekzem eine schlechte Prognose hat, bekommt die Prävention eine besondere Bedeutung. Reduzierung des wasserlöslichen Chromats durch Zugabe von Eisen-II-Sulfat zum Zement ist eine sehr gute und wirksame technische Lösung dieses Problems. Weiterhin kann durch die Anwendung von persönlichen Schutzmaßnahmen in Form von nitrilgetränkten Baumwollhandschuhen auch dem Auftreten eines chronisch toxischen Kontaktekzems entgegengewirkt werden. Die Wirksamkeit dieser Maßnahmen konnte durch Untersuchungen in skandinavischen Ländern, in denen chromatarme Zemente seit Jahren gesetzlich vorgeschrieben sind, eindrucksvoll belegt werden. In dem Artikel werden diese Zusammenhänge anhand von Daten aus der aktuellen internationalen Literatur dargestellt.

Occupational diseases of the skin are relatively frequent in the construction industry. Chronic allergic contact eczema caused by the chromate in cement and cement products is the most common disease. Since chromium eczema has a poor prognosis, prevention is very important. Reduction of the water-soluble chromate by the addition of ferrous sulphate to the cement provides a very good and effective technical solution to this problem. Wearing of nitril-impregnated cotton gloves is a personal protection measure that can effectively guard against the appearance of a chronic toxic contact eczema. Studies in Scandinavian countries, where the reduction of chromium in cement is regulated by law, have yielded impressive documentation of the effectiveness of these measures. In this article the facts are presented with reference to data from the current international literature.
