Zusammenfassung

Hintergrund

Frakturen rund um das kindliche Kniegelenk betreffen das distale Femur, die proximale Tibia einschließlich der knöchernen Bandausrisse sowie die Patella. Sie sind eher selten, müssen aber erkannt und richtig behandelt werden, da es sonst zu bleibenden Funktionsstörungen des Kniegelenks kommen kann.

Diagnostik

Nach einem Trauma auf das kindliche Kniegelenk ist eine adäquate Diagnostik unverzichtbar. In unklaren Fällen sollten neben der klinischen und röntgenologischen Untersuchung auch Schnittbildverfahren zum Einsatz kommen.

Therapie

Undislozierte Frakturen des distalen Femurs können ebenso wie stabile Frakturen der proximalen Tibia konservativ behandelt werden, ansonsten ist eine operative Therapie indiziert. Frakturen der Patella sollten operativ versorgt werden.

Abstract

Background

Fractures of the knee in children affect the distal femur, the proximal tibia including bony ligament tears and the patella. Such fractures are relatively rare but must be recognized and treated correctly otherwise they can result in permanent functional disorders of the knee joint.

Diagnosis

Following trauma to the knee joint in children an adequate diagnosis is indispensible. In unclear cases sectional imaging should be employed in addition to clinical and x-ray examinations.

Therapy

Non-displaced fractures of the distal femur can be conservatively treated in the same way as stable fractures of the proximal tibia, otherwise operative therapy is indicated. Fractures of the patella should be operatively treated.
