Abstract
The paper is devoted to the development of semianalytical solutions for the deformation of thin-walled structural elements made from fibre-reinforced composites. Here the viscoelastic material behavior is taken into account, and the analogy between the governing equations in the theory of elasticity and the theory of viscoelasticity is applied. In this case the Laplace transform is an efficient solution technique. The inverse transform is connected with some difficulties since analytical expressions often cannot be obtained. Therefore the approximate transform which is a standard tool in many computer algebra codes is applied.
As an example of the viscoelastic material behavior the standard solid (Poynting model) is introduced. Some results for simple geometries (circular plate, cylindrical shell) demonstrate the efficiency of the solution technique. An emphasize is placed on the reinforcement direction which has a significant influence on the numerical results.
