Abstract

Venous malformations are one of the most common types of congenital vascular malformations. The clinical manifestation is highly variable and their differentiation from other vascular anomalies is relevant for therapy decisions. Hence, accurate knowledge of recognized classifications is mandatory. The following article focuses on the strengths and weaknesses of the current classification systems for vascular malformations, particularly the classification of venous malformations.
