Zusammenfassung

Hintergrund

Abstract

Background

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women worldwide. Despite improvements in screening and neoadjuvant treatments contributed to de-escalation of surgical therapy, there can still be a need for significant surgical intervention. Reconstructive interventions should be offered since they can improve cosmetic results.

Objective

This article aims to provide an overview of reconstructive techniques in breast cancer surgery.

Conclusion

A variety of reconstructive techniques can be used in breast cancer. Constant development and evaluation of new techniques has helped to improve patient care. Even though oncological outcome is a main criterion, it is possible to provide individual solutions for cosmetic requirements in breast cancer.
