Zusammenfassung

Hintergrund

Abstract

Background

The treatment of soft tissue sarcomas requires a coordinated multidisciplinary approach. In general, radiotherapy is an integral part of this treatment.

Methods

This work is based on a selective literature search in the PubMed database regarding radiotherapy for soft tissue sarcomas, with an emphasis on adult patients.

Results

An overview of the coordination of radiotherapy within the multidisciplinary treatment sequence is presented. The indication for radiotherapy and special techniques such as intraoperative radiotherapy and brachytherapy, as well as the planning and implementation of radiotherapy with an emphasis on modern radiation techniques is described.

Conclusion

The indication, planning, and implementation of radiotherapy is complex and depends on multiple parameters.
