Der Onkologe Aims and scope

Zusammenfassung

Hintergrund

Selektive Literaturrecherche, Auswertung eigener Erfahrungen.

Abstract

Context

Increased intracranial pressure and epileptic seizures are severe and often life-threatening symptoms for patients with brain metastases. Therefore, it is necessary to know the causes and various treatment options in order to allow a differentiated approach.

Objective

This article summarizes the current guidelines and own experiences in the treatment of these symptoms.

Method

Selective research of the literature and evaluation of own experiences.

Results and conclusion

In addition to symptom-oriented therapy, i.e. treatment of metastasis-related increase in intracranial pressure and epileptic seizures, a supplementary therapy for reduction in anxiety must also be initiated.
