In der Onkologie ist die Bildgebung der Leber sowohl für die Diagnostik primärer maligner Lebererkrankungen, wie z.B. für das hepatozelluläre Karzinom (HCC) oder das cholangiozelluläre Karzinom als auch für die Diagnostik von Lebermetastasen bei extrahepatischem Primärtumor von ganz entscheidender Bedeutung.
