Das System wurde bisher an Patienten mit Retinopathia pigmentosa und Choroidermie eingesetzt, wäre aber auch für Fälle mit Stäbchen-Zapfen Athrophie und mit Leberscher kongenitaler Amaurose geeignet. In der Regel wählt man das schwächere Auge für die Implantation, sind beide Augen gleich schlecht, darf der Patient wählen.
