Summary

This article is an introduction of some scientists from the University of Vienna who had a significant part in the development of medical diagnostic technology. Firstly the development of medical ultrasound by Prof. Dr. Karl Theo Dussik is described. Secondly the further development of optical coherence tomography by Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Drexler is described. Finally Prof. Dr. Susanne Binder's work on Intraoperative OCT is described.
