Glaukom: ja oder nein? Eine Begutachtung

Summary

We report on an appeal of a patient, who was treated on glaucoma conservatively since 1995 and operated on one eye by filtering surgery and cyclophotocoagulation in 2006. Before he was operated on his second eye he looked for a second opinion. He was quite rattled because he was told to have no glaucoma. For an arbitration committee of the Medical Association the following questions should be answered: if there is a glaucoma or not, if the operation was indicated or not and what treatment would have been adequate. In case of liability the periods of pain and possible/probable consequences should be determined.

Zusammenfassung

Es wird über die Beschwerde eines Patienten berichtet, der seit 1995 wegen Glaukoms in Behandlung war und 2006 an einem Auge fistulierend sowie mit Laser operiert wurde. Vor der geplanten Operation des 2. Auges holte er sich eine zweite Meinung ein, die zu großer Verunsicherung führte, da die Diagnose Glaukom nicht bestätigt wurde. Für die Schlichtungsstelle der Ärztekammer sollte beantwortet werden, ob tatsächlich ein Glaukom vorliegt, ob die Operation indiziert gewesen wäre und welche adäquate Behandlung gegebenenfalls zielführend gewesen wäre. Im Falle einer Haftung wäre zu Schmerzperioden, Spät- und Dauerfolgen Stellung zu nehmen.
