Potassium hydroxide-promoted transition-metal-free synthesis of 4(3H)-quinazolinones

Abstract

We have developed a KOH-promoted transition-metal-free synthesis of 2-substituted 4(3H)-quinazolinones from anthranilamides and benzyl alcohols or cinnamyl alcohol with air as oxidant. The protocol is simple, practical, and cost saving.
