Abstract.
A simple and sensitive method is presented for the determination of dopamine with a nanoscale ceria ion-selective CMC (carboxymethyl cellulose) membrane electrode by means of the Belousov–Zhabotinsky oscillating chemical reaction. The electrode exhibits excellent potential response. If the concentration of dopamine is in the range of 4.9 × 10−5 to 2.4 × 10−7 mol · L−1, the change in oscillating amplitude is proportional to the concentration of dopamine, with a correlation coefficient of 0.9987 and a standard deviation of 0.17%. A recovery of 97.5–105.0% was obtained. Interference was also studied. The use of a nanoscale ceria ion-selective membrane-working electrode improved the sensitivity of the determination method.
