Cluster Selection in Binary Nuclear Models

Abstract.

 We present a simple prescription for selecting the cluster and core in a binary cluster-model description of a nucleus. The prescription reproduces the cluster-core combinations used in earlier successful applications of the model, predicts others, and extends the good agreement previously found with observed () values of actinide nuclei.
