An unconventional method of fixation of an isolated metaphyseal olecranon fracture in an adolescent with osteogenesis imperfecta

Abstract

The authors present an unconventional method of fixation in an isolated metaphyseal fracture of the olecranon. The child was 14 years old and had osteogenesis imperfecta. The fracture was fixed with braided polyester sutures to avoid various complications; the end result was satisfactory.

Résumé

Les auteurs présentent une méthode inhabituelle de fixation d’une fracture métaphysaire isolée de l’olécrane. Il s’agissait d’un enfant de 14 ans souffrant d’ostéogénèse imparfaite. La fracture fut fixée avec une tresse en polyesther avec un résultat final satisfaisant.
